Robert has been working in financial services for more than 20 years and has a wealth of experience, particularly in dealing with pensions, as that’s where his career started.
Robert enjoys helping people to understand what they have available and what they can do with it – it’s incredibly rewarding. He’ll cut through the jargon and show you that pensions aren’t scary at all.
He mainly works with people approaching or at retirement and shows them how best to use their money by understanding their goals and objectives. Robert is a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society and a Chartered Financial Planner.
Robert is married, and at weekends enjoys trips out in their campervan, either just to the beach or the New Forest.
Robert likes to keep fit by playing badminton, football and running. He’s also a big fan of pub quizzes!
My proudest moment as a Financial Planner was:
Aside from setting up the business in the way we want to operate, there was one particular client who was struggling with work, and wanted a review of his pensions and investments. When we found that he could afford to retire, his whole demeanour immediately changed and look of relief on his face was one of the reasons I do my job!
The three things I love most about my job are:
Meetings with clients, new and existing and maintaining those relationships.
Getting to tell people that they can afford to retire.
Seeing how when a financial structure is put in place, it can give people confidence in their long term financial position.
The types of people I most enjoy working with are:
Those who are in control of their finances, but want to understand a bit more about what their money can do, and who aren’t afraid to ask lots of questions.
